Watched Alfie today..
This only reinforces one thing.. never trust newspaper reviews.
The papers dissed it and I found it endearing. (Just as it was with the phantom of the opera.. oh and I watched it for the third time this monday past btw.. still gotta love Gerard Butler! *sigh*)
I thought it was very well executed portrait of the common predictament of committment phobia in men or the "Glockenspiel" syndrome as me and my girlfriends have dubbed it. You give them elderberries and they throw a stick at you..
A truly classic quote came from Susan Sarandon's mistress/older woman/lover character when she told the suddenly-ready-to-commit Alfie why it was that she had another man in her bedroom (or was it her bathroom?)..
"He's younger than you.."
Now THAT's classic.
Other highlights of my day:
1. Laughed myself to cramps at Lynn's Korean granny impression..
2. Have resolved to find a bigger pond to fish in (if I can't have the sea yet a bigger pond will have to suffice), Ikan Kuning are definately not my type. I need to get out and meet more killer whales, marlins and dolphins in my search for my moby dick. There are much bigger fish out there in the open water, now if I could only find a boat to take me there..
3. Have decided to print a shirt with "I see dead people.." on the front and "..till 6.30pm" on the back and wear it when I'm on dead people watch.
4. Have signed on for yoga class which, if what I hear from a friend is true, will give a boost to the sex life that I don't have! Gee.. how useful.
