It's been over a month since I've come back from Sheep country aka NZ.
And damn if I don't miss the place!

The cool chilly air..
The fresh smell of grass in the morning..
The passing blur of a gazillion sheep grazing on obliviously as we speed past on the highway..
The roadkills..
The people..
The funky street markets..
The climate..
The wide open spaces..
The star filled night sky that stretches on and on as far as the eye can see into infinity..

I miss New Zealand..

I actually feel a twinge of what I've identified to be homesickness whenever I think about the place. I know it's weird to be homesick about a place that isn't your home but I really do feel that way. I've never felt that way about anywhere else I've been to before. Not Australia, not the US, not China, not Hong Kong, nor Korea and MOST CERTAINLY NOT Malaysia.

Homesickness man.. homesickness. Doesn't that mean something?
Then again maybe it's just a matter of time, time enough to erase the little minute details of experience and memory.

Watched The All Blacks trash the Lions today. Dan Carter is a gawd!
Two tries, four conversions and like god knows how many penalties..
Plus he looks so adorable in his skin tight All Blacks jersey!
And I just found out that he's like about a month younger than I am......

Talk about a mood killer!
For him I'd date younger men... *sigh*

At the current moment I'm watching pretty people prancing across a stage in skin tight spandex pretending to be kitties.. and all the guys have very nice asses! Dancers and athletes have the nicest asses.. but the chances that the dancers are gay are pretty high..

Oh well.

Something occurred to me today..

a "What If"..

Do we really ban human cloning just because of the matter of "ethics"?
Or is there a more sinister religious agenda?

What if the clones are a perfect copy of the original?
Right down to the little behavioral (sp?) eccentricities, the same thoughts, the same reactions to certain events? The same personality?

The same soul.

Wouldn't that disprove the concept of souls? That each is created unique and (if you were brought up in the Roman Catholic faith as I was..) when the body passes on, the eternal soul is delivered unto heaven or hell whichever place it's destined for.. but till then it's firmly entrenched in it's fleshly mortal shell.

If the soul is what defines the person, and if the soul is what makes the body function (based on the assumption that when the soul leaves the body dies)..

what then when there are copies?

Won't it prove that a soul can be broken down into biological and genetical components? Definible, corporal and mortal.. and that it can be duplicated by mortals. Mortals that can play God.

What then is God's role in all this?

Perhaps it's one of the secrets of the Vatican.. maybe souls can really be "made", that souls are only eternal in that they'll be recycled in wherever they go after the body dies and reborn, reused. Imagine, you're only as eternal in the number of copies God decides to make. Maybe there's a massive Xerox machine for souls in Heaven..

Hahahah! The blasphemy!
